The Neighborhood

These are a few photos of the neighbors. The family is Constancio, the young pastor, his wife and son. The thatched roof home belongs to the neighbors across the street and behind them is the futbal field that our current president, Evo, played when he was a young man. The river is walking distance from the construction site and the church baptises their members in it.

The New Jerusalem Orphanage

Through the generous gift of a Michigan family we were able to break ground on the third orphanage under the IOU-Bolivia ministry. The process begins with a search for a church. We met with Pastor Gonzalo, the president of the evangelical churches of the tropics. We asked him for ten strong churches who love kids...he gave us twelve. After site visits, interviews with pastors and members we chose Nueva Jerusalen.

Carachipampa School Field Days

Field days are always something to look forward to at our house...mostly for the parents. The girls do all the work and we get the compliments from all the parents. The entire school splits into three teams and competes for three days in track and field events. We were so proud of all of them again. Emily ran in some long distance races this year and had a great showing in the field events. Mallory broke records again this year in the 100 mtr dash and Sydney took first in every event she competed in.

Incachaka and the Trout

The girls had a week off school for Easter and we made a trip to the jungle and stopped at a trout farm and did a little hiking. Its amazing how delicious fresh trout is and believe it or not the whole family likes it and as you can see some LOVE it! Notice the different hiking apparel...to each her own.

Some Easter traditions transend the continents; however, dying brown eggs is a bit more of a challenge but the girls were up for the challenge. Oh, how we are encouraged this time of year as we celebrate the fact we serve a risen Lord. The Cochabamba International Church swelled to over 400 the last two weeks. Bonnie sang a solo during the Easter drama and blessed us again with a wonderful meal celebrated with our two interns, Julie and Ayla. Our hearts still ache to be with our family at Beechwood during these times.

...and so it begins; Timmer Family Blog

We only send out news letters once a month and they are very condensed and need to include ministry information as well as family things. We thought this might be a better way to update friends with mostly the "Family Stuff". How about if we start with some photos?
Where do kids learn these things?
